Royals Add Two-Way Durst At Deadline
GUELPH -- The Guelph Royals Baseball Club is excited to announce today that we signed pitcher and first basemen Drew Durst ahead of Monday evening's roster deadline.
Durst, 23, recently completed his senior season with the Cameron Aggies.
In his senior season, the Frisco, Texas native batted .320-.424-.730 with 13 home runs as a first basemen.
As a pitcher, the hard-throwing righty struck out 49 batters in 53.1 innings pitched, rocking a 4.05 earned run average in the process.
Durst said he cannot wait to make the trek up the border and join the Royals.
"I'm thrilled to be joining the Royals to make a playoff run and win a championship. I'm blessed to join such a talented and great group of players and be a part of a passionate and supportive community in Guelph. I can't wait to get to Guelph and bring a Big Texas flair to Canada. Go Royals!"
To make room for Durst, an import, the Royals have placed Yomar Concepcion on the inactive list.
